Anil Dharker

Director

Anil is an eminent journalist, a celebrated author and a noted film and television personality. A graduate in Mathematics and Mechanical Engineering from the University of London, he was a faculty member of the University of Glasgow in the early part of his career.

In a career spanning over 40 years, Anil has donned different hats in the varied fields of teaching, engineering, literature, journalism and cinema. In addition, he has also been a part of India’s Central Board of Film Certification and headed the National Film Development Corporation (NFDC). He is the architect and Festival Director of Literature Live!, Mumbai’s annual literary festival which debuted in 2010. He is also a columnist for leading Indian newspapers and periodicals.

Anil is also a Salzburg Fellow of the Salzburg Institute in Austria, Chairperson of the Single Malt Club of India and Honorary Consul for Luxembourg in Mumbai for Maharashtra, Gujarat and Goa. He also lends his expertise as an Art Consultant to several galleries and portals and is on the advisory board of several film funds for the production of films in India. In addition, he is associated with several social causes like Pure Air Lovers Society (P.A.L.S) and NGOs like Citizens for Justice and Peace.
